Higher-order thinking like problem-solving requires the student to possess strong fundamental knowledge of concepts and terms in a problem domain.  Authors can use flash cards to provide independent practice to students who are acquiring new knowledge.  Flashcards can include text, cloze questions, images, Adobe SWF animations, and Adobe SWF videos.
